i have a 91 z28 5.7 factory car that i just rebuilt and put in a 99 ls1 with a 4l60e trans setup. everything worked great but now the odometer and speedometer has quit working. can i search out the vss part for a 91 or do i have to look into something for a 99 ls1 car?

Never had to replace a VSS on any of my thirdgens. Getting ready to swap it out over the weekend and hoping it will be an easy fix.

 

If it is the vss that is bad, you need it for the LS1 drivetrain.
