Just installed new 3.23

Converted from a 2.73 open diff w/ drums to a 3.23 posi w/ discs .I got the rear end back on Friday with all new bearings and seals. Got it painted up except a little touch up where it was sitting on the jackstands. New BMR control arms and panhard. I think it turned out very well (It should with the cash I dropped into it lol)
Now next I have to get the mounting hardware and get the sway bar in. Then its on to tackle the brakes and p cable, and the rear will be just about done.

Thanks,
I have about a grand in it. And still need just a few things like the mounting kit for the sway bar, calipers and p brake cables.

And expensive. Maybe will get one later. So why not 3.23 ? Its a good mid range gear and I got a decent deal on it. Needed to get the car back on four wheels. Winter is near and I need to do some rearranging in my garage to be able to work on the car without a bunch of stuff in my way.

Re: Just installed new 3.23

Don't get me wrong, I know how much work you have put into that rear end. I did a complete rear end rebuild using new parts so I may have had a broader range of choices available to me than you had. I guess it just depends on what you consider to be best for your situation. If that ratio fits you than so be it. The more horses you have the more you can take advantage of that ratio.anyway and according to your signature you may be pushing more than a stock 5.0 by the time your done.

Re: Just installed new 3.23

Does anyone know if they make that rear end cover for the 9 bolts? I like the look and function.

Re: Just installed new 3.23

Im going to be putting a built 350 in it. I can always change it later if it does not perform like I want.
