kickdown WOT problem

ok, my car is a 3.1 v6 with th700R4 transmission.
last winter we dit some major upgrades. ( camshaft, timingchain, headers,... porting etc.
we also installed an extra transmission cooler and an ATP shift kit.
( seems to be a transgo senior shift kit )
documentation can be found here.
so I last week my car came back from the bodyshop.
and I did some finally checkup on the car before i'm gonna do a registration of it.

now here is the thing. at WOT the transmission the car leaves the line shirping the tire, but the engine keeps hanging at 3500rpm. then after a second or 2. it goes into the next gear....
I'm buffed at why it wont shift any higher, it should atleast be shifting at 5000+ rpm.
I did install the right V6 springs in the governor for it.
so, what can this be.
is it the TV cable ? first it was on to tight but then it did the same at 2500 rpm.

can anyone help me with this problem?

Re: kickdown WOT problem

yes, at first it was to tight, I couldnt do WOT with the cable connected to it and opening the throttle all the way.
at that moent the same type of problem occured on 2500 rpm.
then I adjusted the cable so that I could open the throttle fully, but now it just happen on 3500 rpm.

Re: kickdown WOT problem

the TV cable has no adjustment unless you want to ruin your trans, follow the setup guide here to set it and leave it be. as far as the kickdown, its just to push the trans into the lower gear while going WOT. but the trans should be more around 5500-6200 when it shifts.

Re: kickdown WOT problem

I know that part, but the first time the TV cable wasn't set right ( couldnt get it to full throttle)
but that still doesn't answer the question of, why doesn't it shift at 5000rpm as it should be.

Re: kickdown WOT problem

Re: kickdown WOT problem

yes, im reading up as we speak and I know I had to change the front valve of the TV. ( the small one )
the new one had this little spring in front of it.
maybe its that one.
