which oil to use for diff??

hey guys,
since i value your expertise, can someone advise which oil to use for the diff on a 88 firebird , 10 bolt posi rear end?? dont think its ever been done in 200+ thousand miles, so wanted to change it out. also, will that mileage be factor?? the car drives fine doesnt sound like metal rubbing or squeaky..

Hipoïd gear oil, highest visco you can get if you run it hard. Add 2 bottles of GM additive before topping off. Most are in the 80W90 range but you can get thicker or oil w/ a larger spread. I have 75W120

80W90 gear oil works fine. If you have the Auburn differential then use 2 bottles of the GM limited slip oil additive. Don't use anything other than the GM additive from your GM dealer. If you have a Governor Lock then just use the gear oil by it's self. You can use a bottle of the additive if it makes you feel better, but it isn't needed.
