700r4 with lt1 engine

I have a lt 1 engine going in my 1983 trans am. I have the engine out of a 1993 corvette. Can I use the 700 r4 out of the firebird. It looks like the only two differences is the lockup is a 5 pin and the one from the firebird is a 4 pin. And the speedo on the corvette transmission is electronic and th firebird is mechanical. I am planning on putting in digital gauges. Also this transmission should hook up yo the engine. Any help would be great. This has been a long long project and hoping to get this motor in and started.

yes,you can use the 700r4, 93 f-body's came with 700r4's,but more then likely your gonna have to pull the tail shaft on the 700 you got and replace the speedo gear and assembly with a reluctor gear and vss sensor from an lt1 car,so you'll have to do without a speedo or buy the conversion box,as far as the lockup goes, theres a kit for that as well,or you can just wire it up to a switch, hope this helps.
