Shift light surprise!

I have converted my 87 5.0 Formula to non-cc. I wired in a switch for the converter lock on my console, along with a aux fan relay switch (fan still comes on @ 220*, but I installed a 180* thermostat). I was thinking about a way to have a light come on to remind me the conv switch was on. While I had the dash apart to unhook the CEL, I just moved it over to what turned out to be the upshift light in the dash. Imagine my surprise when the upshift light came on the first time when I hit the lockup switch! Its in the dash, it shows, but not too bright, and easy to see. I just wanted to share this with my fellow third gen-ers.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Shift light surprise!

RIght: the shift light in a manual trans car is driven by the same driver output as the TCC in an auto car. Same wiring. THey just don't put the bulb in auto cars, or the TCC in stick cars.

Re: Shift light surprise!

Computer will not support a (to be installed)mildly built 406- that's why! No wires were harmed during the making of this movie. They are tucked into the fender.
