t5 electronic vss question

So over Christmas I've got a week and a half off of work and I'm doing my motor swap, I need to buy an electronic (factory) Vss for the transmission. I've been jumping from manufacturer to manufacturer trying to find he part. I looked on rock auto and they show 2 different ones with different prices, the only noted difference is one is a 52mm and one is a 22mm, which one do I need????

If someone can clear this up I'd appreciate it, and for the record do the t5 and the 700r4 run the same sensor? I'm also curious how it is installed any info?

Depending on the year trans, you either need the gear driven vss or possibly the magnetic pick-up type. If the trans is the stock unit for the car in your sig, you will need the gear driven vss and a gear that will work with your rear axle ratio and tire diameter. The vss will have a standard speedo bullet like the old four speeds and the th-350. It is held in place by a clamp (similar to a distributor clamp) and is sealed by an o-ring. Hope this helps!

Do you have a link to that? its a wct5 from 89 by the stickers on it, if I need the gear driven type is that a whole new setup or would the existing gear in the tranny be used?

Check the T-5 sticky at the top of the page for info that may prove useful. Also, the T-5 and 700R4 speedo pieces won't interchange as they're different sizes.

Re: t5 electronic vss question

Ok, now what I've been told is the 700r4 is the larger 52mm and the smaller 22mm is for the t5, I may have to do a junkyard run to find this piece, I don't want to gamble with the parts stores since they are all a few days out on each one and they're overly priced if anyone has a definite part number that would help me out a lot, from whatvi can tell I will need to order a sensor as well as a gear for it unless my current speedo gear will work
