Automatic Transmission disconnected electrical connector / what is it?
I am changing the filter in my automatic transmission. When lowering the pan I notice a two prong electrical connection next to the shift linkage on the driver side of the transmission that is not plugged into anything. Does anybody know what this would be and if it needs to be plugged in. The transmission runs fine.

Sounds like it might be for the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) lockup solenoid.
Mine is hard wired into the wiring harness, so no 2-pin connector.

TCC in an '89 isn't 2-prong and that year wouldn't have a VSS connector originally.

I was under the impression he was talking about a connector inside the trans. I guess that was my error.
