If it's a 4 speed auto then it's a 700R4 just like every other third gen 4 speed auto.
You can't bore a 305 to a 350.

You can't bore it more than .060, so not much bigger. You can stroke one to like a 334 or something like that, but unless you can do it yourself, the machining costs are really not worth it. The most cost effective route is to do bolt-ons on the 305 or spray it until it blows and then build a larger bore engine like a 350 or 400 or swap in something newer.
I ran a third gen with a bored 305 in my parents' '95 Taurus in high school and only lost by a couple car lengths. Judging by the state of that car, I'd guess that the boring and a big, outdated carb were the only mods to it. If you want to make a 305 fast read this:

And if you want to build a sweet small block and stick it in there get "Power Secrets" by Smokey Yunick from the library and read all of it.

Boring the engine makes little difference for 305's and 350's in terms of displacement. Honestly if the cylinder walls don't need it save the money and don't do it. Spend it on intake/exhaust components, you'll get more bang for your buck.
And just about every automatic regular production thirdgen had a 700r4. There are various minor differences through the years.
Seeing as we don't even know what year/engine your car is equipped with we can't begin to tell you anything about those differences.
