Car: 91 gta ws6
Engine: L98
Transmission: 700 R4 TRANS
Axle/Gears: 3.23
5l60e 5 speed auto

Have any you guys ever heard of a 5l60e auto trans swapped in a third gen f body.I always here about the the t56 and the 4l80e ,4l60e, and i have never heard anything about the 5l60e being used in a third gen.

Probably because it is too much work for little gain seeing it has a non Chevy V8 bellhousing and the 3rd Gen computer won't operate it
E trans are controlled by the computer , need a standalone controller = $$$ and the computer it
originally came with won't work in a 3rd Gen

The LSX bell housing bolts to a SBC just peachy. Is the 5L40,50,60 norstar only?

I have a 6L90E in my 2012. It shifts amazing. WOT shifts at 6k. Coupled with a aftermarket controller (like a megashift) it would be a nice transplant into a fbody.

Complete lack of online info about these except on BMW forums ( was a OEM BMW trans )




Best I can find is a custom adapter a shop made to mount one to a LSX .
Sorta like fitting a P/G to a Ford or Mopar V8
