I am going through the car listing various projects that need to be done. PO said he did the engine (and I believe him), front end has been rebuilt, put on a TA Performance rear diff girdle and discovered the rear end has been rebuilt. My question is, is there any way to tell if the 700R4 has been redone with a complete teardown? The fluid is clean and doesn,t have that burnt smell (either means a good tranny or recent service). Just trying to check things off the list that don't need to be done.

Re: curiosity
If the transmission looks clean and works well it likely has been rebuilt. If the fluid is bright red that's a good indication also because a service does not replace all the fluid.
