Stage III clutch overkill?
Ok so here is what I have... 91 firebird GTA Ws6 G92 welded SFC and torque arm. My 5 speed is slipping when I gun it so it obviously need's a new clutch. I am looking at these stage three clutches and hear they hit pretty hard which I like. I love banging these gears and such.
Is a stage three overkill? Or will it be fine. My mod's are only open air filter and air foil and smaller mods and exhaust. So can I put a stage three in knowing it will take my abuse? or do I stick with the oem clutch? I really do not want to have to baby it.
Also, what am I looking at for time wise? I will be replacing it my self, and my dad and bro will help, so maybe what... A day? Any hidden things I should be careful of?

Stock clutch is more than enough to hold a relatively stock motor. Plus I would rather have a little give in the clutch to help the T5 live.

Re: Stage III clutch overkill?
Yes, overkill. I wouldn't do it. It would most likely have some chatter on a normal takeoff especially if its a puck style. Full face disk are more forgiving. Might consider going with something like a SPEC Stage I or II or a Centerforce. I have used a CF with my current 355 setup with very good results. Very driver friendly yet has held very well.
