blew a trans cooler line while driving.
I just blew a tranny cooler line on my 700r4. I crept down the road for a 1/4 mile or so because I honestly though I tosted it anyway. But then noticed the plume of smoke. I stopped and saw the tranny fluid pouring out. I put the hose back(rigged it to work) Got it home. I was about 2 miles from my house with no one to come get me. So i proceeded to drive it home slowly. Went about 15mph for 2 miles with no stopping.
Before I go waste $$ on new trans fluid what are your guys opinions on how trashed this tranny is? It moved well still but as you can imagin it slips.
I would guess I lost about 3-5qts.
I have a spare tranny, Im also concerned that I ruined the stall converter....

Re: blew a trans cooler line while driving.
Probably OK.
Fill it back up and see.
Of course, use something better than fuel hose for the cooler lines... there's a reason the factory put STEEL in there, END TO END.
