Redrilling backing plates on Ford 9" rear
My axle is a Moser 9", with Big Ford old style housing ends. The drum brakes I have, are Big Ford new style. Not a huge difference, but wondering if i can redrill the backing plates for my axle? How is the best way to get it centered?

Make a template using the center hole/bearing as a guide. Weld up the old bolt holes then use the template to locate the new holes that need to be drilled.
The old style should be 1/2" holes while the new style should be 3/8" holes.
The old style should be 1/2" holes while the new style should be 3/8" holes.
