Clutch Recomendation
Looking for a clutch for my mild L98 TPI build. Daily Driver.
There are a lot of choices, Jegs has 12 different ones.

Any preferances?

Re: Clutch Recomendation
I'm a little partial to McLeod. They offer their street pro clutch. This kit comes with a pressure platem disc, T.O. Bearing and Pilot Bearing. Part Number you'll need is 75125

Re: Clutch Recomendation
Lots of good choices and everyone will have there own experiences. Centerforce, SPEC, Ram, Mcleod have been around for some time and all have made great products. I sold many of the latter 3 brands years ago with great results and I've used a Centerforce DF in my car for sometime and have had great results. I've also seen bad experiences with all of them. There are good and bad experiences with all brands of clutch. Most of the time the bad isn't due to faulty clutch. There's lots going on with a clutch... the driver, functioning hydraulics, proper matching clutch to vehicle and modifications, gearing, daily driver or racer, etc. Just be sure to stick with something that is streetable. I'd go with the DF or the SPEC II for your setup.

The Centerforce seems to be a good match for a mildy modified street/strip vehicle. They run less base pressure than some of the other high performance choices(so you're not heavy footing a high load clutch around town) and use centrifugal force to increase apply pressure under acceleration.

I put a ram clutch in my car. I have a high compression 355 with aluminum heads that was engine dynoed with a carb at a tad over 400 hp. With TPI im sure its a tad less but maybe not? At any rate the ram has held up great. I was gentle to it for the first few hundred miles and then let it have it. It does have a heavier pedal feel than stock but my car is not a DD so i didnt mind. And ive felt a LOT heavier pedals than the ram as well.

Re: Clutch Recomendation
i have a Centerforce Dual Friction. No complaints. It held up to my drag radials when the stock clutch wouldn't.
I'll never forget that first launch on those DR's with the stock clutch. i reved her up, let the clutch out, and i thought the tires were spinning and was very disappointed but then i smelled clutch instead of rubber. Stock clutch was still in good shape, but it wasn't strong enough for the DR's.
