hey i haven't been on in a while i bought me a new 88 irocz 88 5.7 auto..
anyways the car has been in a garage forever barley driven . i purchased it and drove it home and have been going thru it.. it doesnt' want to shift from first to second unless you let off the fuel at high rpms. it does feel like the trans is weak at all. all the gears pull good. i did the tv adjustment same thing happens.
full of fluid and everything else checks out . i know the 700r's reputation it's good. but it pulls good and strong.
also when you manually gear done like to a stop it doesn't act like it catches the second, first gears.
any input is appreiciated

 

I had this problem so I installed a shift kit. While installing the kit I found a broken accumulator spring. Broken acc springs and beat-up separator plates are common in the 700R4. All I can say is when I was done the problem was fixed. I don't know if the spring was the problem or something that was changed with the shift kit.

 

ok well i have change the filter and fluid even added some lucas. now that is done the car seems to sifht but not perfect still. what it will do now wneh manually shifting it when i get to second gear it seems to be in neutral but at higher rpms it pulls just as hard as first gear. i wonder if i have a stuck valve. it is almost like it is bypassing second..
if anyone knows anything that would help i'd appreciate it.

 

got off the phone with the guys at performabuilt and he said i should check the servo. as soon as i get the time ima pull it and check it. he said thats the only thing could be possibly wrong since i had all my other gears. which makes sense it applies the 2 band.. fingers crossed
