Confused about my kickdown cable. Need some help.
First of all I heard that the car should shift into 2nd at 15mph and then when you mash the throttle after that shift it should go back into first, it does that nicely. My thing is when I have the TV cable adjust like that (plunger all the way in) it shifts into drive very very hard, if i put it to where it doesnt shift hard it shifts into 2nd at 9mph but goes into drive easy. The shift into 2nnd is also firm when it shifts at 15 but when it shifts at 9, its smooth.

Note that it isn't a kick down cable, but a throttle valve (TV) cable. It regulates the line pressure within the transmission.
I'm not sure what you mean by "(plunger all the way in)."
Try adjusting the cable as follows:
Depress the D shaped cable release
Pull the cable sheath all of the way toward the firewall
By hand open the throttle all of the way, do this at the TB by grabbing the lever arm
This will cause the TV to adjust by pulling the sheath back through the racketing lock mechanism.
At this point the cable wire between the TV cable sheath mount and the TB lever should be taunt. This is when the TB is still wide open.
See if that does the trick. You can adjust it by one additional click out, but no more.

Press it in. Manually open the Tb. Then stop pressing it

Pretty close.
Press the button while pushing the cable towards windshield....Then release the button.....Then rotate the throttle bracket all the way to wide open throttle.
You'll hear it ratchet itself.
Go for a drive. It should be "perfect" after this.

It all comes down to drive-ability. So now, don't come back and say that it just isn't right, or that it surges, because this was not mentioned originally. Just that you don't think it shifts at the right MPH.

Sorry for the typo, was using my phone this morning. And the drive-ability seems ok. It just seems like it doesn't have enough time to accelerate in first gear before shifting into second.
