Used Vigilante Converter/New local converter
Hi guys, just wanted your opinions on a stall converter for my Camaro. It's an 84 with the early style 27-spline input 700r4. I am running a 383 with lunati's 60103 cam, and lunati suggests 2400-2600 range for stall speed. My challenge right now (having never bought converters before) is choosing the right one. I have read many reviews for various companies, and the consensus seems to be that Yank, Edge and Vigilante converters are top shelf stuff. I have the opportunity to buy a used, 27 spline Vigilante 2600 stall converter (seller says used for 5000 km) or to buy a 2400 rpm stall converter made by a local shop (J and K converters) for the same cost. This is compared with spending more on a 2400 rpm stall converter from B&M (all bad reviews). SO, am I better off with a new locally made converter, or a used Vigilante one? Any opinions are appreciated, thank you.
