Can anyone let me know a specific length on the stock drive shafts. I have done some research and it seems to be in the 41" range give or take fractions of an inch, but I want to be SURE

I have a 86 350 with a 9" tail and I was told that the later 3rd gen shafts are the length I am looking for

This being that they came stock with 700's and the 700 has a 9" tailshaft
So my question is what was the stock length for

these later 3rd gens running the 700's

OR

has anyone done a long tail th350 swap into an 82 camaro, and could give me and idea on what I need?

I also heard the torque arm needs a special bracket /adapter?

The later drive shafts, both steel and alum, are 41 1/2 from U center to U center. The same shaft is used in both the 700R4 and the T-5.

Think you just solved my search, from what I've been told, the length in the 82-83's had to do with a 6" tailshaft, and after 83 they started putting in 700's with the 9" housing, and the 41.5" shaft. Time to find one!
