1984 and 1992 Manual Trans compatability....

I have a 1984 z28 5 liter HO. Its a factory automatic and i am converting to 5 speed. Found a complete parts setup form someone but its from a 1992 Camaro and the box is a WC. Will this swap right in as would a non WC T5 from an earlier third gen?

That should answer your question; you will run into the same cable driven to VSS speedo issue.

Everything should be the same. I just swapped a WC into my 84 with no issues.

Do your self a favor and get a good shifter and dont miss third. Also while you have the trans out I would suggest buying a STEEL cluster support plate.

You need a flywheel to suit your early 2 pce RMS engine.
The flywheel from the 1 pce RMS '92 won't bolt up to your crankshaft
