hey ive noticed when driving whenever i am in 3rd gear it shifts to 4th very early. like 1100 rpm then that bogs the car down. just seems like it shouldnt shift until 1800 or so maybe more? . any help would be great!

 

Might be your TV cable adjustment. Make sure that's set correctly and see if it still does the same thing or not. If the cable adjustment doesn't help, then you might have to buy a governor re-calibration kit. Changing the weights and springs on the governor can help to raise or lower the shift points. Btw, I hated the shift points with my stock TBI governor. I put a 350 TPI in and had the trans rebuilt, and hated the shift points. I got a "Vette" governor, it's the one with the green colored gear on the end and the diamond-shaped weights. I actually got it out of a 91 GTA 700r4. Apparently, the GTA's and the Iroc's with the 350 tuned port motor got the better governor. Anyways, that governor put my shift points right where they needed to be. Doesn't shift til about 5700 rpm's when floored.
