Rebuilt T-5?

Does anyone know where i can buy a rebuilt t-5 to handle up to 450 hp/tq? Monster transmissions sells them to hold 400 hp/tq but im going to be over that with my 383 build (hopefully). The only other thing I've seen is a G-force rebuild kit but that costs more than the transmission from monster plus the labor involved.

I cant afford to go t56 at this point and my other option is a 700r$ from monster that holds 500hp/450tq and comes with a manula valve body.

Looks like the Monster tranny is just a rebuilt stock one, I see no point in spending money on that if your looking for it to survive your 383. Honestly your better off with a used t-56 or going with the TKO in the long run.

Re: Rebuilt T-5?

I just cant afford either of those right now, and i dont see me being able to afford them for another year and a half or two years. We decided that we're gonna just pick up a cheap t5 and rebuild it ourselves. I have s&w subframe connectors which relocate my torque arm off of the tranny. This will help a little with keeping the extra torque off of it. Hopefully it will last long enough for me to afford a t56 rebuild. Ill just have to be easy with it.

Re: Rebuilt T-5?

I wonder if even getting the g-force t-5 beefed up case would help since your doing a rebuild anyways.

Re: Rebuilt T-5?

That what im thinking, depends on how much i can get the conversion parts and everything else for. Ive put a lot of money into this engine and am in a little jam with money right now. Its not too bad but i cant justify any reason to spend more that $1200 on a manual tranny, considering the 700r4 is 500hp/450tq for $1200 and no swap parts.
