700R4 worth?

700R4 worth?
This may seem like i am trying to advertise but i am not. I am really asking for help. I have a 700r4 that i want to sell coming out of my 1984 Z28 5 liter HO, That has only 30k miles (i can guarantee that) because it is still in the car. I am trying to figure out its value or how much i should ask for it. I know its odd to ask but it is a legitimate "help" question regarding transmissions. This was not a car that sat idle...It was just driven sparingly by original owner and started and run to warmup in winter months including putting the car into gear to allow circulation of fluid. With that kind of low miles and care, whats it worth? Its only coming out because i am putting a 5 speed in.

3-400 maybe
you may find someone willing to pay between 4-600 since its a lower mileage

If its the older 27 (I think, lower then 30) spline, It probably wouldnt be worth much. IMO

Re: 700R4 worth?
It is only worth something to the person who needs this year to match what they have now. Otherwise this is not one of the units that you would want to use for a build up in a project vehicle. 1988 - 1993 were the best units to use. They had the many needed upgrades to start with that were not in the 1982 - 1986 units. The early units (27 or 30 spline) can be built to hold some horsepower with the right parts.

Re: 700R4 worth?
newagereject.... It sounds like your questioning if its worth the money to do a manual swap......I can tell you that its only really worth it if you are keeping the car and it makes you happy. Because i know i am adding up the cost and its quite unlikely i ever recoup it. I just happen to have a car that i never plan to sell and i am really bored with the automatic. Before i owned this car, Years ago i had a 5.0 HO 5 speed and i had a blast with it and that was due to the fact it was what i thought all sports cars should be...Manual shift. Wish i never had to sell that car way back when...But i have a cool car now....Just auto
