Is this WC or non WC
Is this a WC or non WC t5? All I've researched says non WC. A friend gave it to me and swears its out of an 88 Iroc. If its not, maybe someone swapped it out somewhere along the way with a non WC,,. Since I'm not familiar with these and a lot of people here know these very well I thought I would confirm. Thanks

Looks like the paper tag is still on the inspection cover, clean it off and get the number

Ok I figured out how to make your pic larger. That is a NWC. The tag is 1352-0XX which also says NWC to me
Here is the 2 front bearing races left is NWC

The 0 also makes me think it is out an 85 or earlier
Does it have the ID tag?

Re: Is this WC or non WC
That's 1st design.
Note in the pic how somebody has tried to seal the front countergear bearing, and the sealer has torn itself out of the crack. This is absolute positive certain take-it-to-the-bank undeniable definite PROOF that the transmission is destroyed, by way of the case being stretched across the front and that big hole being an oval, and it leaks, and somebody has tried to seal it, and of course that won't work, and it has failed. The PO knows this. The fact you don't mention that you have been told the trans is no good tells me that you've been misled to expect too much.
The transmission will leak out the front. It will be noisy, if not right away, it won't take long; in the meantime, you'll have to put oil in it a lot, and it will be noisy. But that's OK as long as it works good. Just DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER let it run out of oil!!!! Check it regularly and keep it full, and even though it might smell bad and keep your rear bumper funky at all times, at least you'll be driving instead of riding the bus.

I'm sure you know what you're talking about. I was happy to get a bunch of free parts. This came from a car that was parted out. My friend kept or sold other parts. He wanted the trans but thought I would benefit to help with the build. If its bad he doesn't know it.
On another thread in convertibles, I started a build that will take me awhile. The car is at the paint shop right now. Thanks for the feedback.

Yes that one is 2nd design.
It's not a "seal"; it's a bearing. The front countergear bearing to be precise.
