4 speed swap
Hello I'm having trouble with deciding what I should use, I lucked into a 400 and I wanted to go t56 but in newfoundland there no where to find, but 4 speeds are dime a dozen, has anyone swapped a 4 speed in them and what about cross member and stuff like that, wanting to build a street/strip car but being where I'm to parts and resources are 3x price

Re: 4 speed swap
All the '82 LG4 / manual trans versions used the Borg-Warner Super T-10, and so did all the 4-speed '76-'81 Trans Ams. There are different gear sets available. I suggest finding the version with gearing of 2.64-1.75-1.34-1 if possible. I wouldn't chance the version with the 3.41 first, and I would not enjoy the version with the 2.43 first. There is a version with a 2.85 first, but it might need to be babied.
