Where can I get the correct T5 driven gears? Need a 20 tooth...
I changed out my original 2.73 gears for some 3.42's I got out of a V6.
Swap went fine, now I need to replace my 16 tooth gear with a 20 tooth.
The kind I have us a plastic gear on a metal shaft. The ones I see on ebay are all plastic (gear and shaft)
Will those interchange? If not, anyone know where I can get the correct 20 tooth gear?
Thanks!

Get a new steel bullet sleeve; the seal can be either left as-is, or driven in-wards to a second position for the new gear. Plastic ones are fine.

The speedo gear fits in it.
https://www.google.com/search?q=t5+speedo+gear+sleeve
Then click images.
A new one includes a new pinion seal.
The pinion seal has two positions for different length speedo gears.

OK thanks. Just found this article (thanks to your link) that shows the same problem I'm having
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=199369
There was no answer to this, unfortunately.
Just to clarify so I don't wreck something - if I order this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Muncie-T10-4-Speed-T5-5-Speed-Speedo-Gear-Housing-w-Extra-Seals-Hardware-/321102167325?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ac32e3d1d&vxp=mtr
and this:

I'll be in good shape?

as long as the drive gear is 7 tooth, yes.
search 345215 and get that bullet without all the spare crap for cheaper.

Thanks! I called a speedo gear company and ordered from them. Just wanted to have talked to someone as well.
My car HAD 2.73 gears, and the driven gear was an orange-ish 16 tooth. I looked inside and saw a blue-ish gear, but looking around online I was able to back into that being a 7-tooth gear.
Using the online calculators with my tire size it came out to 20 tooth.
We'll see how it goes!
