Removing metal pin at clutch slave cylinder.
Guys, I'm trying to remove a metal pin at the hydraulic hose to the clutch slave cylinder under the car. Here's a picture of the new part and the new pin. I can't get that pin off at the broken slave cylinder under the car. The pin is hollow in the middle. I've tried to push / punch it out but it won't budge. Don't wanna damage the line by hacking into it. Gotta be an easy way to get this pin out
Am I missing something here or do I need a special tool to remove this pin?

Those roll or spring pins can be tight. What are you using as a punch? You should be using one of these:

It helps to have a good backup with which to rest the cylinder on. A solid backup goes a long way to getting these pins to move. I'd also be careful not to crack off those ears.

Thanks Paulo. I kinda figured I'd need some sort of tool like the punch pin. I'd need to use the pin with a hammer right?
It's pretty tough trying to balance a loose and hanging broken slave cylinder that's still attached to the hose hanging under the car and try to punch that bloody pin out while on my back while at the same time holding it in one hand and using a solid backing like you mentioned.
Wish I had a hoist right about now

Re: Removing metal pin at clutch slave cylinder.
Ive used a cut off nail as a punch to get that out. I usually end up pushing the slave over to the lower control arm area or there abouts and using that as a backer to pound it out. The last time i did it the pin fought me a bit but it did finally start to move. Also it may move easier one way or the other so try from both sides and see if one gets you some movement or not.

Thanks guys. Borrowed a buddies push pin set and leaned the cracked slave cylinder against the frame of the car and carefully hammered away. Kinda hard to do one handed with a foot of clearance under the car, but eventually got that sucker off. The rest of the installation was a breeze!
Thanks for your input guys I really appreciate it.

Re: Removing metal pin at clutch slave cylinder.
At one point, my clutch fork was bent, and i was going through at least 2 of those slave cylinders a month. Got pretty good at swapping them out in a cold/dark garage in the middle of the night.
I used a pick with a 90 degree bend in it, and a channel locks to force it out, if i remember correctly.
