T5 problem after swap

91 camaro vert,originally 305tbi now, 350 tbi,swapped from a truck,wc t5..

So after swapping to the 350, the car seemed ok but then a day later the car was hard to put in any gear(grinds when attempted, but the new owner will slammmmm it in gear)..noticed a rear main seal leak,so that was addressed..now the car was driven maybe 15 miles, stopped at a stop sign, couldn't get it in gear, turned the car off,put it in first then started it..as it was cranking the car was moving, clutch fully pressed in..it made it a block further..car will not go in gear at all now..also it started making a noise after the rear main seal fix, extreme hard vibrating of the car, under acceleration,I mean hard...does it while car is in neutral rolling down the road also when revving.during this vibrating,it's also noisy as hell..any help appreciated..

Re: T5 problem after swap

Throwout bearing improperly installed, most likely.

Rear main seal leack could have contaminated the flywheel surface and pressure plate as well. This will lead to chatter.

If you paid a shop to do the work, they should fix the issue.

Re: T5 problem after swap

Well, no one is willing to admit fault,I sold him the car,was mech great,he wanted a 350,found one complete for 200 with all accessories ,even headers..I had to assist in getting the vehicle running,at first the injectors would dump 100% ,and no spark,I knew something was grounded or pinched, turned out they had one of the ignitin coils on backwards, anything is possible once you break the tabs off..but two different shops,he paid 350 to get the rear main seal done,a week after motor install. It's funny the mechanic said all tbi injectors are the same and no one can tune these cars, you have to use a timing gun..Wow.

Re: T5 problem after swap

I would highly recommend not buying it, but if you are dead set on it, offer him a grand with the wheels, you could prolly hock them for at least $500
