Currently driving a C4 but i plan to Vortec swap it pretty soon due to low compression and just in general need of a rebuild/swap

looking at getting a Third Gen to drive in the meantime and thinking about 350 swapping a third gen before i Vortec350 swap my C4

Not wanting to spend a lot of money on one and i notice a lot of the V6 and 305 cars in very good condition, wondering if i would run into any wiring issues and if they have different transmission gear ratios and/or weaker transmissions and if the final drive is any different

 

If you start with a V6 car, you'll need to do the trans as well. The V6 trans will not bolt to a SBC. IMHO, just get a 305 car and drive it, if the 305 runs good, swap it when something breaks.If the 305 is junk, swap away.

 

does the third gen V6 also use same bellhousing as the 90deg V6s in later camaros, and the Northstar

 

The 3rd gens use a 60* V6.

The later 90* V6s are the same bellhousing as the SBC
