Whats a fair asking price?

I have a 9 bolt 3.45 rear that is fresh, I mean new bearings, seals, rotors, and calipers. What would be a fair starting price?

It has 0 miles since freshened up. I filled it with good lube and additive, mounted it in the car, and thats where it's been since. For the record, it was freshened with good Timken bearings and seals. No cheap junk.

Thanks for you advice!

$700 id say , a 10 bolt goes for around 300

Yes, but very few customers (only those interested in originality of their perf option car) will find it worth more than a ten bolt. You can always start high, but I'd be surprised if you got more than $400. Have to consider as well that the average buyer has no way of knowing if you built it correctly.

Thank you both for your input.

Stealth, I can return the brake stuff for 350.00 dollars. I think I'll just store it incase I find a need for it.

Yes, true that the brakes are probably the most valuable part.
If you plan on sitting on it, you can always put ads up for a high price and see if you get a bite.

Re: Whats a fair asking price?

Thanks guys for all your advice. I priced it and sold it for 550.00, to a local guy. It was only on CL for an hour. It's going into a 86 SC. I told him about the forum and maybe he'll join.

that was lucky imo since you didn't replace the axles or ring and pinion.they would seem to be the high wear items to me.rotors are cheep.

They didn't need it. The axles were in great shape, the R&P were in good shape also. The bearing were in very good shape, but since I got it used and already bought the bearings and seals, I figured, I would put them in. Yes rotors are cheap, but the calipers were 115.00 each, rotors 30.00 each, pads 56.00 all adds up to 346.00 before tax.

I apologize, I used a USA standard gear master overhaul kit. BTW, it was 225.00 shipped from rockauto. I think I gave the buyer a fair deal and I only lost 75.00 dollars.
