Cold weather B&M Shifter problem

I'm looking for some ideas on why a B&M Mega shifter won't ratchet in bellow freezing temperatures. I can't find my issue in the
The transmission itself is fine. I can feel the shifter not clicking into the next gear upshifting 1, 2, 3, 4, N. It simply won't ratchet up into the next gear so if I shift down I'm mechanically stuck in that gear. Once the car fully warms up the shifter upshift clicks into gear normally. I have a full manual throttle body so I have to wait a full 15 min at idle for the car to warm up completely this is getting really annoying. I'd like to be able to drive it within 5 min of start up. Has anyone with a B&M Mega shifter had this problem before and what was the solution?
Thanks

That was my first thought but then I started thinking well I can pull it down shift just fine and park to reverse and reverse to park are not effected so the cable is moving. The cable is not frozen stuck in place.
I feel no noticeable extra friction when pulling downshifting in the cold.
The bird is garaged vehicle so frost build up on the car is very minimal.
The part of the cable that i can see without dropping the transmission I can see no damage to cable for water entry. The seal at the end of the cable is still in place. I assume the seal is good I can't see anything wrong with it.
Anyway
So lets just assume there is a frost covering ice inside the cable housing.
This is the part I have trouble understanding. I can pull it in one direction. I can't visualize mechanical reason why I can't push it back the other direction. If someone can explain that to me I'd give consider cable freezing explanation with more merit.

Re: Cold weather B&M Shifter problem

If its not the cable itself its probably the shifter mechanism. Take the boot off and get some lightweight penetrating oil on there like wd 40 to work it a bit loose again. Then some white lithium grease after its worked free. You "should" be golden after that.

Yep Subroc it was the grease in the shifter itself. In the cold that 20 year old grease in the shifter ratchet was as thick as refrigerated honey.
Thanks for your help.
