OK, Weird question...rebuilding the rear end on my 92 Z (LB9,T-5). When I pulled the rear end out, I noticed the diff cover was silver. I can't see any other underlying color so I am assuming it was that color from the factory but I could be wrong. The rear was apart previously. Maybe someone changed the cover.

Painting everything now so should I repaint the cover silver or black like the rest of the suspension?

 

Fairly positive they came from the factory in black, could be wrong but since the color is silver it seems like someone didn't wanna buy a chrome/aluminum cover back in the day and just went with it.

Depends on if you are going for the factory look or something different as to which color you choose.
