Part number for Z-bar linkage?
I'm looking for just the cross shaft (Not sure what it's called) that goes under the master cylinder/brake booster. It goes over the ball that's screwed into the engine block on one end. Is it available anywhere?
My current one works, but it was re-welded in the past, and not exactly where it was to begin with. So I don't have as much adjustment as I should on the threaded rod that goes to the clutch fork.
Thanks in advance!!

AFAIK that thing hasn't been available for many a year now.
Better plan all the way around, is a hydraulics conversion. That's all that will work with the T-56 that you'll soon be needing anyway...

It's not like it's in stock at the dealer.
Just wait for sofa to join us and tell you what you REALLY need to do.

Guess I'm hoping a dealer just "might" have a dusty one sitting in a dark corner somewhere since I'm guessing not many people replace them...
Sofa - I knew you'd say that….it's been you're "standard" response for years!

Just throwing in a hydraulic clutch has crossed my mind…but then I'd need to dig up a different bell housing. Besides, I like the prehistoric old school z bar setup….and yes - I know there's a reason why they dropped them in favor of hydraulics years ago. That's why mine had already been re-welded. And if it breaks, I probably will swap to hydraulics.
As for the trans, if it does finally break, I doubt I'd go the T-56 route…more than likely i would opt for a Tremec 5 or 6 speed.
-But this T5 has held up really well since it was built 6 years ago…and more than half that time, the 400 has been in it along with the small blower….but I'm not racing the car or beating on it…much.
