Re: 8.8 thread i cant find
They bind the rear axle so it acts as a swing arm. Go over a bump with one wheel and not the other, then the other wheel lifts off the ground. You can even dump the rear sway bar because the whole axle is acting as one
This one started just about all 8.8 builds

If you're dead set on not building a TA mount, use a MM TA that bolts to the bottom of the diff

Re: 8.8 thread i cant find
Hmm wierd, guess ill look into the torque arm provisioned th400 crossmember. i wonder why they suck so bad on fbodys? when i solid axle the front of my 91 K150 i went with a ladder bar type setup like the rear and it worked excellent, no binding whatsoeve, drove fine turned fine but thy were also more than twice as long as those. now how would i go about making a bracket for the 8.8 i thought about something that clamps onto the both the diff cover axle tubes and flanges of the pig but i dont possess the tools to do something like that any longer.
Re: 8.8 thread i cant find
Good ladder bar setups are as long/longer than our TA and are not parallel, they cross near the trans output shaft. This allows some axle articulation
The MM TA setup for mustangs would be the easiest retrofit into a 3rd gen. Bolt it on and mount the supplied crossmember in the trans tunnel somewhere. Still need 10 bolt brackets welded on and figure out the overall width/lug bolt pattern issues

hiltsy855 sells a TA saddle mount for the 8.8 housings. it's very inexpensive and works great. i used the saddle and went to a jegster tunnel mounted torque arm.

Re: 8.8 thread i cant find
hiltsy855's build thread is over on ls1tech, should be easy to find in the gears section. my build was included in my lsx swap thread. search "husler mid-length headers", that should bring it up.

Re: 8.8 thread i cant find
Use two drivers side axle shafts and lengthen the passenger tube to match and it becomes 3rd gen width. It's a ford 5 on 4.5" pattern though

Yeah I agree with pocket that you can use two drivers side axle shafts and lengthen the passenger tube to match and it becomes 3rd gen width.
