Knock at idle, goes away with clutch disengaged

Just like the title says. I searched but it kept bringing up throw out bearing. Which I don't think it is anymore just by reading on the symptoms. It's an irregular knocking. I read up on how manual transmissions work and clutches and I'm now suspecting a input shaft bearing. What do you guys think? Pedal up, knocking, pedal down(disengaged) no knocking..

How long has the clutch disc been in the car?

To be honest I don't know, I just got the car in July. The clutch still works fine, goes into gear fine.

Id bet on the TO bearing if it drives fine let it be just have a replacement lined up
If the thrust bearing was going out youd probably have other issues (could cause a knock). Like being able to move the crank back and forth
Im no authority for sure but Id say run it

I read up on the throw out bearing and when that goes bad apparently it makes a noise when the clutch is pressed in. I already have a performance clutch kit on my wish list lol, I'm not too worried since it runs completely fine. At first I thought it was knocking from the motor since I just recently did a cam. But I tested that by pushing in the clutch. As long as it last till spring I'm fine lol. New drivetrain, motor, supercharger, suspension, wheels and tires, new posi unit..etc

Re: Knock at idle, goes away with clutch disengaged

both of my 5 speeds in my 89 had a erratic knock when not in gear. never had an issue when they did this. the first one finally went but it had about 172 k and the other one I sold recently to make way for the T-56 and the knock went away (or I couldn't hear it anymore due to the exhaust tone) but still worked when I sold it.
