TH700r4 Possible pump damage?
Im doing a v6 to 350 swap, Have a 87 Z28 with the 350 and 700r4 that is rusted out. Got a mint 92 RS im switching everything over too (Blown v6 that has 29k miles).
Well when removing the motor, I messed up and broke a 2 teeth on the flywheel when setting it down. So i went to change the flywheel, and pulled an idiot move, I unbolted the tranny from the motor, When i did the transmission wasnt supported enough and slipped apart, About 1.5 inchs I forgot to unbolt 1 of the Torque converter bolts and pull. Enough for it to leak fluid out the front. So i twisted and pushed it back into place after I got the remaining bolt out.
Im not sure if i damaged the pump, I was always told that doing exactly what i did would.
Should I try it and see if everything was unharmed or will that do more damage if it was damaged?
I was talking to my dad and he says that the only way to tell is to drive it down and test it. No shops around here have a transmission dyno and i already have everything in the v6, Just need to finish some wiring.

Re: TH700r4 Possible pump damage?
When you spun and pushed the converter back into the input shaft, did you feel the converter "clunk" when it engaged the pump?
Typically, there should be around a 1/4" clearance between the converter and the pump if the converter is properly engage to the pump. You shouldn't be able to get your fingers between the transmission case and the converter (this is putting your fingers through the opening where the inspection cover would normally be attached).
If the converter isn't engaged with the pump and you bolted the trans to the engine, you might have damaged the pump. You can see what happens in the last two photos in the link below.
