9" Rear End Wheel Fitment?!?

I am eventually going to be installing a 9' rear, Im not sure which is best the Moser, Currie, Ect...

My real question is if i get the Moser for example how will this effect the required offset for wheel fitment.

I currently have a stock 3rd gen rear with disc brakes so im sporting a 16mm offset in the rear.

I have been told that the Currie supports the stock disc brakes and the Moser does not.

So putting my stock Disc brakes on a Currie will result in what Offset?

When i visit the Currie website it states the 9" is for 82-02 Camaros so i am not sure if it will be 3rd gen offset or 4th gen offset.

Is it a better option to go for the Moser and install the LS1 brakes? What offset would this result in?

My main concern is that i am buying wheels very shortly and want to plan for the rear end, so i dont need different wheels afterwards.

I can purchase wheels that fit my current Offset but once i install a different rear will they fit? i cant seem to find any info on the required wheels offset .

I am probably going for a 4thGen/Corvette wheel and spacer combo, so a rear end option that results in a 4th gen offset would probably be ideal.

Sorry if this question is confusing i have never done a rear end swap.

Thank you,

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Whatever you order, tell them you want stock Thirdgen width. Done.

Decide now if you want narrower or what-not...

So if I order the Moser same width, what are my options for brakes?

The stock length rear with drums is 0mm offset, with discs is 16mm offset. So if i cant install the stock discs what would you think the ls1 brakes would be? 16mm?

I see you have the moser 9" what brakes and wheels are you using?

I have the big Ford ends...brakes are limited to Explorer drum or Explorer disc brakes...

So- any aftermarket kits they offer that fit the big bearing ends those would also fit it...I've never looked into it.

I'm sure there's other options if you give them a call. They'll know which brakes will work with what.

EDIT: Honestly, if using GM LS brakes are a priority, you might want to look into a 12 bolt instead...

Moser makes many different housing ends, so you can use just about any brakes that you want. You just have to tell them up front what you want to use and they will build it the way you want. You can also order it any width that you want. If you want a custom width it's no problem, and no extra cost. I was a Moser dealer for 15 years and I have ordered their rear ends in many different forms for many applications.
