3.23 vs 3.42

I have 3.23s in my car now and want to know if 3.42s would offer much performance advantage.

Car is a 1985 Z28, 355, vortec heads, comp xe274 cam, edelbrock tpi lower, SLP extrude hone ported and siamesed runners, ported plenum, full exhaust, and 5sp manual trans. The engine seems to pull hard to at least 5500 rpm.

Would 3.42s be a big improvement over the 3.23s or should I go to 3.73s? I am looking for a big increase in seat of the pant feel. I drive the car 99% street and only on nice weather days.

Not really. It's only ~6% difference.

3.73s: 11% should be noticeable, but may not be as big of a difference as you'd like?

I went from 2.73 - 3.55 - 4.10 in my 430hp mustang. Each step up was a noticeable change. The step from 3.55 - 4.10 should be similar to going 3.23 - 3.73 I would assume.
