Firebird Rear end-posi swap

Hey everyone. Well today I we my rear end in my firebird. It is a 350 swapped firebird that originally had the v6 in it. So I'm assuming this rear end is garbage anyways. I have an appointment with the transmission shop on Monday for my transmission rebuild... So I Midas well get the rear end fixed and made posi... Or something like that.

Either way I want it to be posi... As I plan on building it further. The transmission is getting a beefy build and should be good for a while.

What should I tell the transmission shop to do with my rear end!!? I want it posi.... But I don't want to spend more than $1200 or so for whatever they gotta do. If need be I can get a salvage unit to swap in... What do I look for?

$1200 aint gonna do it .you should get a eaton posi IMHO. a master bearing and shim kit. a crush sleeve eliminator kit. ARP bolts for the bearing caps .and a nice aluminum rear cover . more like $2500 .once youre done. and even then the stock rears in these cars will fail if you put enough torque thru them . there has been many people asking this question on here .do a search, and good luck

Have them install a Yukon Dura Grip with a Yukon installation kit.
