t5 to TKO600 swap

Do I get the Lakewood bellhousing or order the adapter kit from fortes? What's the better idea money wise and mechanically? Any other changes i'll need? I have a 87 305 IROC

Re: t5 to TKO600 swap

So I just ordered from Forte's and I understand he is sending me the FORD TKO600 because it has a longer input shaft, and that's how he does his conversion kit to match up with the original T-5 bellhousing...

My question is...

When the time comes to swap in a 350 or 400 SBC years later, will this input shaft not match up? Will I need to get the CHEVY TKO600?

I know a ton of people do this swap and it's been successful and everyone raves about it. I am just worried about the future...

i assume you are putting this in the 305 you have now. if you are getting whatever you need from forte to get the ford shafts to work with the 305, it will work with whatever other small block you put it behind as well
