G80 posi.

Is this worth buying? I am getting 28 spline axles and 3.42 gears.

Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: G80 posi.

No.

I would not accept one of those for free, because then I would have to dispose of it somehow, which would cost me something.

Looks like your link didn't work. I couldn't see what it was that you were looking at. There are several different differentials that went by the G80 code. Which one are you looking at?

Re: G80 posi.

That would have been the Eaton Governor Lock, not the Eaton Posi. It's fine for a stock 4X4 S10, but no good for a performance car.

Yup, it was a Gov-Bomb.

Even the S truck people consider those things an abomination; just hit a truck board and see how many of those guys manage to grenade them.

Re: G80 posi.

Best way to go is with the Eaton Posi, Eaton Truetrac or Yukon Dura Grip. Don't use the Eaton Governor Lock or Auburn.

Re: G80 posi.

That's a good strong unit and it's rebuildable. All parts from the Eaton Posi will interchange with it.
