i have 87 iroc when kicking down into passing gear when it shifts back too overdrive doesnt go in too gear engine revs then when i let up on throttle goes in . does mabye one out of five times any idea what this could be .also someone told me if i get another 700r they are specific too 86 87 camaros is this true

 

Sounds to me like your TCC Solenoid is bad. Torque Converter Lock-up. Not sure, but I believe there is a code for that. If you scan for codes it may show up.

 

sorry should have mentioned have a 2400 stall and it isnt a lock up converter
