Hello all, I have decided to upgrade my peg leg 84 TA to two wheel spin due to lack of traction after a very successful stroker install. I have used the lockrite in the past and am fine with the noise, thats not an issue, I love the way it locks up.

I just need to know what to order, there seems to be different part numbers for 7.5 and 7.625, since I want to upgrade to 28 spline axles at the same time, I have to be careful what parts I buy so the lock right fits in the stock open case I guess..

Anyone done this or have any input? I don't want to pull it apart and then wait weeks for parts, but I wouldn't even know what to measure for the 7.5 vs 7.625 issue..

Maybe its not an issue, but Powertrax has different part numbers and I'm confused, any help would be appreciated!!

 

You can not use a 28 spline Lock Right in your 26 spline case. You will have to get a 28 spline case too. Best place to get one of those is in a '90 or later S10 truck. Be sure to get the correct series for the gears that you are using.

 

Hmm, well then that ups the install price of the lock right.. Maybe the s10 will have a deeper gear for me as well then! I was trying to avoid a new carrier, maybe I should look at the Detroit trutrack again, that was on special last time checked from summit.. Money, money money.. Hahaha, any other ideas? A 4th gen rear is starting to look in the right price range all of a sudden, not sure if I can use my stock 15 inch tires with the never rear disks though..
