87 700r4 into 86 car

I have an 86 camaro sport with a bad transmission. I purchased a working 700 out of an 87 Iroc. Is there anything different about the transmissions? I know that my car had mechanical speedo and this one has electric. Other than that, is anything different? or will it just mount right in?

Yes technically besides what you mentioned it should bolt up fine. Although your speedo may be inaccurate do to the IROC having a higher gear ratio then your 86 Camaro sport but since you have both transmissions you should be fine switching tail shaft on transmission with your old one. Hope this was of some help to you.---John

no ned to do anything with the shaft. the iroc has a mechanical set-up just like the '86. all you have to do is swap the speedo gears and housing to make sure you have the correct ratio. the vss on the iroc is behind the speedometer in the gauge cluster. everything up to that point is mechanical.
