Sudden loss of engagement while driving
First off car is 100% stock -- 305TPI / T5 / BW 9 bolt -- 173k miles. This car is seldom driven -- probably 1-2k miles a year tops.
When driving I have had a sudden loss of engagement of the driveline while at lower speeds. Has happened only a few times, but I am pretty sure I was in the 30-40mph range in 3rd or 4th gear. Car will be in gear, constant RPM and then just drops engagement for 1-2 seconds and then its back. Seems like its skipping a tooth or something, but that doesnt sound right. The times it has happened, I was not accelerating, but just constant speeds.
Has been 70k since the last clutch job and figure that may be the first place to start.
Thoughts?
