Engine: 305 tpi
Transmission: t5
t5 flywheel question
about to fit a new clutch but flywheel looked non to clever so have a new one here to go on.
just removed the old one and it has a spacer/shim behind it.
should this be there or do i bin it and bolt the new flywheel to the crank
not sure if it there from the factory
help please dont want to fit it wrong and pull the trans again

In the third gen T5 setup it is used to make a used machined-surface flywheel the same thickness as new for the sake of clutch mechanism geometry. Personally, I have had used machined flywheels work just fine without the shim. In your case with new flywheel, you will leave it out.
