4th/OD no longer engages
Hello all.. I need help. I had the Transgo 700-2-3 Reprogramming kit, a servo, a 2400-2800 locking torque converter, and an B&M ratchet shifter installed in my 87' Formula. The reprogramming kit and servo were installed at an "auto shop" that my dad knew. The guy said he had done these kits before so I was okay with it. It has an super awesome noticeable difference...but the 700r4 is no longer shifting into 4th and It shifted fine before. I can ratchet 1-3 gear just fine, chirping tires and all. But when I ratchet shift into 4th gear, it's as if I stayed in 3rd. No RPM change or anything. My dad and myself reinstalled it and do not remember NOT hooking anything back up. TV cable is installed. The trans was near empty of fluids when installed. I have, so far, poured 12qts of trans fluid in. I know the converter takes a ton of it but I was thinking 12 was about right. It moves pretty good so I don't THINK its low on fluids. Will recheck anyway. But what do you guys think??

Re: 4th/OD no longer engages
Okay, after narrowing down some MAJOR web searching and asking around, I'm down to...the servo installed wrong/backwards, the trans connectors not plugged up properly, and my TV cable still not being adjusted right (even though its in as far as it can go (maybe i'm adjusting wrong though)). What do you all think??

Re: 4th/OD no longer engages
The servo is for 2nd and 4th gears to apply the 2/4 band and hold the reverse input drum. If the servo was removed and reinstalled, that's the first place I would be looking. Also if the valve body was removed, possible checkball issue. Doubt it's a tv cable issue, would have shifting issues in other gears due to it controlling pressure. Since you have 2nd gear the band is obviously applying and holding the reverse input drum. I would be looking at what was removed from the trans for the shift kit.

Re: 4th/OD no longer engages
UPDATE: okay, so ive gotten my car back from the shop. the servo was done a bit wrong but was not preventing overdrive. The guy at the trans shop says that whoever installed the 700-2-3 reprogramming kit must have did something wrong with the valve body. He said that this rebuild would cost more that he would even pay for.
Could I just buy a new 700r4 valve body and install that into my 700r4? I just want to drive my car normal again.
