Hey guys/gals,
I need some help with my 700r4 its just been rebuilt by a reputable transmission repair shop with all new strengthened internals, sonnax and TCI parts new clutches. I have fitted this into my 84 Pontiac and it was working when first put in however it couldn't select 4th overdrive when selected to 4th it was like neutral so I had to drive it in 3rd probably did about 3miles not hammering the trans just babying it along and it gave up all forward drive like it was just slipping slight movement at high revs but couldn't go up hill and you could hold the car still from moving. My first thoughts were the trans cable or shifter were not working but when the shifter was selected it moved the trans shifter lever into each selection, I checked the T.V cable was sweet as as I had fitted a holley geometry corrector, fluid lvels were sweet new trans cooler. The trans only selects park it has reverse but that's it. I have since taken the trans back to the shop they stripped it (air tested it) not sure what that's is? the mechanic said everything looks new and cant find anything wrong with it please help I have spent so much on this trans now im wishing I had gone with the T56 conversion would have been a bloody sight cheaper, any help woul be very much appreciated.
