Car: 1989 camaro rs convertable
Engine: 305 tbi
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 7.5"3.42 gears forth gen 2000 camar
won't downshift into first while moving.

my car starts out in first from a start but flooring it while moving stays in second.if i pull out from a side road and then floor it it trudges along in second gear.i tried adjust the 'kickdown' cable twice.btw i swapped in a 3.42 rear.any ideas?i can never remember the name of that cable.

It's a TV(throttle variation) cable and it has to be set properly. There is no "adjustment".

of course theres adjustment.i released it with the button and than opened the throttle wide open the reset it.
