4L60E tailshaft housing woes..

alright so ive searched the forums for awhile now and cant seem to find the answer im looking for.
now im going to use the 4l60e that came with the motor out of a 2000 Silverado. So my problem is with the tailshaft housing. I need to still be able to bolt my torque arm up to it. ive seen some adaptors that make the 700r4 tail housing bolt up to it, but they are a little pricey. Can i get a tail housing off a 98-02 Camaro or firebird that had a 4l60e in it ? cause ive been searching and i cant seem to find anything and its getting really frustrating

and advice would be awesome!

Get a F-body tailshaft housing from any year car that had the 4L60E and it'll bolt up. Another option would be to get a transmission cross member with the Torque arm mount on it.

I don't think you can use just use any tail shaft housing from a 4L60E F-Body. You'll need to find a housing off of a 1999-2002 F-Body for it to bolt onto your 2000 4L60E.

GM changed the housing from a 4-bolt to a 6-bolt housing in 1999.

Yea since mine is the 2 piece transmission (bell housing unbolts) I need the 6 bolt housing. If I have the older one piece 4l60e I could swap them over no problEm. I think I might have found one tho. Fingers crossed,
Its always the little things holding up my projects.

I wasn't aware that they had changed the bolt pattern. Good call.

They went from a 4 to 6 bolt tail housing in 1998.
